Kara Ruffer recently began her tenure with FORTIS Resource Partners LLC as the Director of Business Development. In her current role with FORTIS, Kara is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with businesses throughout Orange County in efforts to provide optimal staffing solutions. These partnerships result in placing top professionals with clients in the areas of accounting, finance, and technology on an interim, direct hire, and special project basis. She also assists in the recruitment of talented and dedicated professionals needed to fill opportunities with FORTIS' valued clients.
Before joining FORTIS, Kara spent ten years in the finance industry with Chrysler Financial holding positions in management, risk analysis, accounting, and consulting. Kara has spent the last four years consulting on a portfolio of loaned assets valued over $100 million. Her priority was to not only manage the account, but to focus on providing the businesses strategies in order to maximize her clients' success in areas of finance, marketing, expense structure, and operating processes. Previously, her position was based in Irvine working in the accounting and risk analysis department. She identified potential risks based on financial information provided and then developed strategies to lower Chrysler Financials exposure.
Kara is currently an MBA candidate in her final semester at Pepperdine University. While attending Pepperdine, Kara has had the opportunity to consult on projects for Santa Barbara Bank and Trust. She has also started an initiative, working with her resident city, to help low income families provide affordable food for their families. Kara received her bachelor degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where she played Division I Soccer for four years.
In her free time, Kara enjoys spending time with her family. She still has a passion for soccer and plays and watches as much as she can fit into her busy schedule.
